Natural springs flow abundantly throughout the area. We have a warm climate, suitable for spending time outdoors most of the year. Great for golf or gardening, or trips to the beach, even in winter. Bay Springs has many lovely spots to enjoy, and is conveniently located to resorts and city amenities, fine dining, shopping and gaming and great entertainment.

We are Mississippi's #1 producer of gas and oil, and also lead the state in timber, cattle, and poultry production.Most of this valuable resource is located in and around Heidelberg.

Wild game and fish are abundant and provide major outdoor recreation. Lake Claude Bennett is located near Rose Hill and is a great recreational spot with good fishing. There is a 9 hole golf course in Jasper County at Bay Springs Country Club.

Much of our county is rural and offers peaceful, gracious country living, while being in near proximity to city amenities. There are beautiful lands available for building homes with acreage.

Jasper County has excellent medical facilities. Jasper General Hospital is located in Bay Springs since 1962. Kenneth Posey is administrator for 37 years. The hospital offers acute care, swing bed care, long term care (nursing home), and home health services. (Pro-Care Home Health). Other services offered are physical, respiratory, speech therapy and laboratory and x-ray services. The hospital also owns a Family Medical Clinic.

Jasper County also has an excellent and beautiful assisted living, Summerland Manor. Its a 24 bed facility offering retirement living and assisted living.

Another health facility widely used by Jasper Countians is the Jasper County Health Department, who provide services such as inoculations, prenatal care, and family health education.
