Lake Claude Bennett (at right) is a 71 acre lake located in Jasper County, 20 mi. E of Bay Springs off Hwy 18. Lake Claude Bennett, open year round, provides great boating, skiing, fishing, and other watersports. It is rapidly becoming a very popular fishing lake and also a well used camp ground.
Improvements have been made at Claude Bennett in the past few years. 4 Rental Cottages have been added (as pictured at left). This would be a great place to stay during BayFest!! Campground has been rewired for 31 hookups (8 are 50 amp capable).There are 2 dump stations (plans for sewer hookups are being discussed.) A new office & bath house have been added, plus a pretty foot bridge across the lake to allow fishing on foot from the other side, plus a great place to take a leisurely walk.

17,156 acres of Bienville National Forest is in Jasper County, providing public hunting lands and camping. Jasper County is known as an excellent area for deer and turkey hunting.

There is a 9 hole regulation golf course in Jasper County, located at 49 County Road 186, Louin, MS 39338.The course is about 20 miles east of Bay Springs on Hwy 18. Bay Springs Country Club is a private equity course with 36 par, 3,128 yards, and a rating of 34. From the longest tees it offers 3,128 yards of golf for a par of 36. The course rating is 34.4 with a slope rating of 112. At one time, the course was rated 6th of all 9 hole courses in Mississippi. Bay Springs is a daily fee semi-private golf course with an 'Accompanied By Member' guest policy.The Country Club also offers a large pool, covered pavillion, suitable for large events, and well-maintained tennis courts.
