Claude Bennett State Park is located in Jasper County. Lake Claude Bennett, open year round, provides great boating, skiing, fishing, swimming and other watersports. Winding your way down a nature trail or relaxing by an open fire, state parks are some of Mississippi's best kept secrets. Fishing is by far one of the most popular outdoor activities in Mississippi. The state's mild climate promotes a year-round season for the many game fish that thrive here, including more than 175 species of freshwater fish.

17,156 acres of Bienville National Forest is in Jasper County, providing public hunting lands and camping. Jasper County is known as an excellentt area for deer and turkey hunting.

Marathon Lake, in Bienville Forest, is very near the northwest border of Jasper County and offers swimming, camping, and hiking. Greentree Reservoir, a 50 acre lake is also nearby, off Hwy 504.

The Tallahala Wildlife Management Area is located at Montrose with 28,120 acres available for hunting, and is managed by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. For more information contact 601 692-2776.

Lake Eddins, at Pachuta is a 700 acre fishing lake and private gated community with land available for residential development. The property has been developed exclusively for fishing and family relaxation. Lake Eddins has over 12 miles of shoreline, and is a live lake, fed by Pachuta Creek, boasting some of the best fishing in the state with spectacular views. Golf is another favorite outdoor recreation. There is a 9 hole regulation golf course in Jasper County. Bay Springs Country Club is a private equity course. with 36 par and 3.128 yards, and a rating of 34. There are several highly rated 18 hole courses in near proximity to Jasper County.

Jasper County has easy access to many recreational activities. You are within an hour of Philadelphia, MS where you will find two casinos, a resort water park, and frequent concerts. In two hours you can be lying on the beach, enjoying the Gulf of Mexico. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is quickly recovering from Katrina's destruction, and is becoming the gaming attraction that it has been in the past.
